Sign Back in the Market!

Last night we uploaded a new version of Sign to the Android Market. The new version allows for user control over the gesture recognition to make it more or less strict. Hopefully anyone who has had issues with the recognition will have more success by adjusting the recognition to be more lenient.

We’re definitely interested in everyone’s feedback on this new feature as we are continually looking to improve the accuracy of the recognition engine. So let us know if Sign is working better for you now. Send us an email at simplyapplied@gmail.com.

Thanks for your patience while we temporarily removed Sign from the Market and keep an eye out for upcoming updates.

Sign Temporarily Unavailable in the Android Market

Due to a problem which occurred when we attempted to upload an update to Sign last night, we have had to temporarily remove the full version of Sign from the Market. We apologize to everyone inconvenienced by this; however, we are expecting to release an updated version to the Market within the next 24 hours.

Thank you for your patience.

CritiCall Available in the Market

Never miss an important phone call because your volume is turned down!

Our second application, CritiCall, is now available in the Android Market!

CritiCall is designed to allow your phone to ring when you get calls from set contacts, even when your phone is set to silent.

Using CritiCall, you can select any contact as a “critical” contact and your phone will always ring when you receive a call from that person. Easy to turn off when you CAN’T get calls, and includes a customizable auto-resume feature.

Great if you have kids or if you provide professional services and can’t afford to miss calls from important clients.

Features include:

  • Phone rings when critical contacts call you – even when set to silent/vibrate!
  • Set as many “critical” contacts as you want
  • Set custom times for each Critical Contact
  • Groups
    • Unlimited number of groups (friends, family, work, clients, etc)
    • Unlimited number of contacts within each group
    • Custom settings for the entire group change the settings for all contacts in the group
  • Quick and easy to turn off if you CAN’T have your phone ring
  • Adjustable Auto-resume so you never miss a call
  • Auto-resume override if you don’t want CritiCall to Auto-resume
  • Volume control
  • Customizable defaults to see the information you want to see quickly

There’s a free trial version which is fully functional, but which expires after CritiCall overrides the phone’s volume settings 5 times. The full version is $0.99.

Give it a shot and let us know what you think.

CritiCall is Coming Soon!

Simply Applied is working hard on the final phase of development (graphics!) of CritiCall, an Android app which lets you set certain contacts as critical so you can be reached even if your phone ringer is on silent. Keep an eye on this blog and the Android Market for the launch announcement!

Simply Applied to Donate 10% of Sign Sales to Help Fight Cancer

On November 25, 2010, my dad lost his fight with cancer. He was 67.

Over 25 years ago, he started his own construction company and built a reputation as hard working, reliable, and trustworthy. This is why his company was successful for over a quarter of a century, and his entrepreneurial spirit is what inspired me to help start Simply Applied.

Cancer is a terrible and destructive disease and it seems to be more and more prevalent these days. Almost everyone knows someone who has suffered or is currently suffering from cancer. Simply Applied is proud to announce that we will donate 10% of sales of  our first Android app Sign in 2011 to help in the fight against cancer. The money raised will be donated evenly between the American Cancer Society and the MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Thanks for helping us do a small part to support cancer research.

Screenshots for Sign version 2.3

Just wanted to post a few screenshots to show the new graphics in version 2.3. We’re pretty excited about the changes and would like to hear your thoughts.

Also, both Sign and Sign Lite continue to maintain their high ratings in the market. Sign is currently about 4.5/5.0 stars and Sign Lite is about 4.1/5.0 stars. The primary difference is that people sometimes give lower ratings because Sign Lite only allows 3 contacts to be assigned gestures.

Finally, we aren’t done adding features – we’re going to implement some user control over the recognition, allow the user to save multiple Signs for each number to improve the recognition, add email, add the ability to assign gestures to apps or other shortcuts, etc. As always, we welcome suggestions, but these are just some of the features we are going to be working on over the next several weeks/months.

Sign Update 2.3 on Android Market

Sign, our gesture based speed dial app, has been updated and is available on the Android Market! We have improved the graphics, which we think you’ll really like. We have also added an option that forces the phone to go back to your home screen after you’ve made a call with Sign, instead of going to the call log. Please email us at simplyapplied@gmail.com if you have any problems or compliments. Thanks!

Sign Lite Passes 10,000 Downloads!

Simply Applied is proud to announce that late last week we passed the 10,000 downloads mark for our free app, Sign Lite! Thanks again to all of our users for your support. We are continuing to make improvements to Sign and Sign Lite and we appreciate your feedback to make this app as great as possible. Keep an eye out for an upcoming update which will improve the graphic elements of the app.

Also, please watch out for our next app, CritiCall, which is coming soon!

Sign – Over 1000 Paid Downloads!!!

Just wanted to throw out a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has purchased our speed dial application, Sign. We now have over 1,000 downloads of the full version and almost 9,000 downloads of the free version, and both continue to maintain a user ranking of over 4.0. In fact, Sign has a ranking of ~4.5 out of 5, so thank you for all the great comments and ratings too!

Your support has allowed us to continue to work to make improvements on Sign, and we are in the process of implementing some new features which we hope to begin to release in the next few weeks.

Thanks!!!
